COMMUNITY & OUTREACH
|
|
Cleveland is filled with opportunities for
community involvement through university organizations
and a variety
of other venues. I enjoy getting involved with these
types of groups
not only because I can participate in the activities
they sponsor but
also because I get to meet all kinds of interesting
people. The links below
provide information about some of the things I have been
doing outside of
academia- or at least some acvities that are related to
it more peripherally. |

| The Cooperative Extension Service was established in 1914 with the idea that it would make agricultural and mechanical research from "land-grant" universities available to the public. I help fulfill that mission in my capacity as a Master Gardener volunteer. | I
have been involved with the development of severel
museum exhibits in at the Field Museum and the
Cleveland
Museum of Natural History. Most recently,
I collaborated with personnel of the American
Museum of Natural History on their outstanding Extreme
Mammals exhibit. |
I'm
the
coordinator for Science
Café
Cleveland, an informal
public forum for discussing science oganized by
the chapter
of Sigma
Xi
here at Case. Science
cafés
are currently active throughout the
U.S.
and the
rest
of the world; ours has been going since April
2007. |
As my schedule permits, I give presentations to groups of all ages and sizes on mammals, dinosaurs, fossils, reptiles & amphibians, and other related topics. Until I get my own page up and running, you can send me an e-mail requesting additional information. |
